With the fact that both these issues are happening the most likely cause of this would be the master cylinder.

I would suggest capping the lines on the master cylinder and making sure you have a hard pedal.
If you do not, then the master needs to be replaced.
The guides above will help with this process. Unfortunately, we don't have a manual on this vehicle as it is not offered in the USA, but these guides should help with the replacement.
