ABS light came on while driving pedal goes from hard to soft. Light goes off and comes back intermittently. When light is on brakes work fine. When light goes off brakes are unreliable. Pedal gets hard and makes noise. Should we be looking at booster or sensor?

when ABS light is on then the unit is not working and you just have standard power brakes if it is power. These video can help us fix it

We had mechanic scan and two codes show sensor on right front and rear are showing error. We also checked all brake pads. Left rear pad is almost gone but other three sets all look brand new. We replaced all pads less than a year ago. Could sensors be causing that issue as well?

probably the sensor is the cause or air in ABS unit, probably both. the pad that is almost gone is more than likely the caliper is frozen or not sliding in bracket and should be fixed.

check and make sure you didnt crack the sensor when you removed it. Is there a way you could stop somewhere and get the ABS codes for me so I can help you the best that i can?
