Brakes will slightly depress, then not move at all for 2-3 seconds. Then they will fully depress.

Hi,

Do you mean you are unable to press the brake pedal and then after a few seconds, the pedal goes to the floor?

If so, did this happen all at once? Based on the description, it sounds like it is related to the brake master cylinder. I say that because it goes to the floor. Do they work at all when they are slightly depressed?

Let me know.

Joe

No. So, it will slightly depress, like an inch or two, then it will just stop for a couple seconds, then it will fully depress. And idk if it all happened at once I just bought the car.

Hi,

Based on your description, either there is an issue under the dash where the pushrod attached to the pedal assembly or the master cylinder is bad.

This vehicle may have a Teves brake system. They are unique and not seen too often anymore. So just to confirm, the brake pedal travels to the floor. Is that correct? Also, does your brake master cylinder under the hood have the components mounted to it that I have circled in the picture below?

Let me know.

Joe
