Hello,

If I can jump in here. I like the semi metallic because they have a less tendency to squeak but the ceramics do last if you can keep them quiet. Here is a guide to help walk you through the steps of replacing the pads with diagrams below to show you how on your car:

Hi,

The Yaris wasn't offered in the US in 2005. However, here is a link that shows how brake pads and rotors are replaced on a front wheel drive vehicle. I'm confident it will get you through the procedure.
