Replaced front brake pads 2 weeks ago, drove fine 1 week, pedal starting a deep popping sound when pedal is released, plus a grinding with braking. Took pads off to inspect the issue, found no signs of issue with anything. Swapped pads (left to right) to see if issue would stop and now the popping is still there and the brakes squeel when applied like they need replaced.

Sometimes the noise can feel like it is in the front when actually the noise is generated from the rear, have you checked the rear pads? Also, I would check the front caliper slides, if one or ore is seized it can cause the problem you are describing. Please go over this guide to see what I am talking about:

Please upload a video in your response so I can hear the noise.
