I've changed my brake pads and when it was time to change the brake rotors, I had purchased the wrong ones. What the shop did not to waste time, is sharpened the brake rotors that the vehicle had. I'm hearing screeching sounds and muffled sounds when I brake only. I assume it's the brake rotors. When sharpening brake rotors, how long can the rotors last and is it a good idea?
Now, I want to purchase brake rotors. What brand is good and how about pricing. Should I go with the most expensive ones or at the least expensive okay.

Good afternoon,

The finish is not correct on your old rotors and that is why you hear the noise.

I would replace them with new. Raybestos is a good brand to use. I have had great success with that brand.

Thank you again for this invaluable information. Now, how much would a repair shop charge for this installation of 2 rotors?

The labor is 1.25 hours. Depending on there labor rate, it could be between $150.00 to $200.00.
