I changed the brake pads and light is still on. Brake goes all the way to ground and when first turning car on and applying brake to put in gear the front left brake makes a squealing sound. The rotor does not look bad, but does have a small circle around it. What should I try next to fix it? Thank you!

if you changed the brake pads and pedal goes to floor then there is air in unit probably in ABS unit that is why brake light is on. A mechanic has to hook up his scanner and open all the valves in ABS unit to get the air out. you might try a power bleeder to bleed the brakes, but normally this is what happens it is pretty common now.
