My dad drove this truck to my uncle's garage twenty miles. When he got there no brakes. before he drove it it had excellent brakes, but there was a leak. I replaced the rear end all calipers all bled and now pedal sinks to floor. No air come out when bled.

Was the master cylinder empty the first go round?

It is possible the master cylinder is shot, The plunger inside is no longer sealing on the cylinder walls and is allowing fluid to pass by instead of pushing it.

Seems everybody has a way to bleed the system, some effective, others just sort of winging it going off of hearsay.

I am pretty much old school and like carbureted stuff over the new high tech stuff.

I have found that pressure bleeding (link below) pushes the fluid and air out the fastest and more effectively, some think that gravity bleeding is the way to go. I have Jeeps and work on 4x4's. I disagree, as if your brake hoses are high (loops/ curls) the fluid does come out the bleeder, but the air rises to the top and does not "fall out" like the fluid. (sort of like your shampoo bottle turned upside down).

See my answers on the link below, this is the way I was taught back in the early 1970's, pretty much still works well on most vehicles.

Keep us posted.

I think it is because when i switched my front calipers the bleeder is at the bottom. would that be why?

I think you got it figured out!

Usually that kind of information is never given to us, they chase their tails forever.

Glad you threw it on the table, that is something I will try ask when someone else is having a hard time.

Did my shampoo bottle story make you think of that?

Correct it and return with some good news!

Normally they like a new question submitted.

This kinda separates the "problems" so that Joe Schmoe doing a 'search' will be able maybe 'relate' his similar problem with yours, hence, he may get his fixed from your "one" experience.

Nuthin' says you can't run two questions (threads) at the same time!

GO FOR IT! (new question)
