All three brake lights not working properly

Brake lights slow to light up when pedal is pressed. When car is in park, stepping on pedal they work. when car is in reverse, takes more pressure on pedal to get them to light up. Overall it seems like more than usual pressure on pedal is needed to get them to light up. Checked brake fluid, full. All bulbs good, they all light up, all were replaced about a year and a half ago. Left and right signals work fine. Back up light (white) works. Brakes themselves work fine. Fuse? Switch at the pedal? Thank you for your time and help!

Hello,

It does sounds like the light at the pedal but to be sure lets use a test light to find out for sure.

I would check for a loose fuse as well.

Here is a wiring diagram so we can see if the power is slow somewhere else besides the switch.

As they do light up but seem to need more pedal motion, I would look at the actual switch on the pedal first. It should not take much motion to turn on the lights.

Remove the clip number one, remove the retainer number two and remove the switch. Disconnect it and plug in the new one, put it back in place and install the retainer and clip.
