Brake lights will not turn off

My brake lights will not turn off. I only use this truck to haul dirt and lumber, mostly on my property. Not able to get it repaired right now. Can I just remove the fuse labeled "stop lights" when I turn the truck off and put the fuse back in if I have to drive on a public road.

Below (at bottom), I found what should be a picture of your brake light switch.

It could be a defective switch

or

It may just have a "mounting" problem.

My Jeep's switch is similar to yours.
