My brake lights on sides are not working. Brake light on trunk works. Replaced brake switch. Ground to body was very corroded, cut off and put a new one. License plate light socket was melted, cut off and put new one. What should I do next?

If the center high-mount brake light is working, the brake light switch has to be okay. Do the tail lights work? The best suspect is a bad ground below the trunk latch. If that is corroded or damaged, the tail lights will not work either.

The tail lights do work. The ground was corroded so I replaced it with a new one. But darn me I did not change both bulbs. I will also do that tomorrow.

Are you saying the two bulbs are bad, or you are going to check them?

If the bulbs are okay, have a helper hold the brake pedal down, then check for twelve volts on the white/tan wire in one of the rear sockets. If it is missing, there is only one connector between the sockets and the splice where it taps off for the center brake light.
