I had my brake power booster replaced and then the brake lights would not go off. The brake light switch plunger was stuck down. Purchased a new one but there is a bracket that it connects to. The bracket is broken. I need to know what the name of that bracket is and/or if it is a part of a larger assembly. I saw a diagram someone put in this site in response to another vehicle I have circled the part in that picture.

Hi,

It sounds like the damage was done by the person installing the booster. Have you contacted them?

As far as the mount, based on the brake/throttle pedals are adjustable or not, the brake light switch is part of the brake pedal mounting assembly. See pic below of both the adjustable and non-adjustable designs.

The brake light switch should fit into a square cut out in the assembly and is secured by a 1/4 turn. Some are removed with a 1/4 turn and others clip into place.

The pic you have above isn't from a 2014 van. If possible, let me know what link you found that picture on.

Let me know.

Joe

See pics below. Note: Pic 2 shows the switch. I circled the square portion I mentioned.

That one was from an older model I just saw it from a bad angle it looks similar to that. That post was about a 2002. I’m going to get more information on it tomorrow but here is the link to that post: https://www.2carpros.com/questions/2002-chrysler-town-and-country-brake-light

Hi,

That is correct. I thought it looked odd when I saw it. Let me know what you find or if I can help.

Take care,

Joe
