I simply hope that somebody can tell me how to check the switch/short wiring harness with my ohmmeter. in other words, I do not know what wires to put my test leads on so that when I push the "switch button" I will be able to see if the switch actually is working. ; )

Thanks.

What kind of problem are you trying to solve? What is the correct engine size, and do you have cruise control? I assume you know how to use an ohm meter and voltmeter. Is that correct?
