Hello, the brake light is on without the brake pedal depressed. When I disconnected the connector from the brake switch the light went off. It seems that the switch is faulty, I need to replace it. Is there any procedures taken to remove the switch?

Hi,

Chances are you are correct; However, make sure there isn't an adjustment issue. If it is out of adjustment, there is a good chance it will stay on.

Now, the Sunny was never offered in the US, but I believe it is the same as the Nissan Sentra.

Here are directions for adjustment on the Sentra. See if it reflects the components on your vehicle.

If it does, the adjustment doesn't fix the issue, then replace the switch.

Thank you.
Good morning, it was not what I thought, the brake switch is functioning properly. The issue was that the input rod of the switch is not touching the pedal, the point at which it supposed to touch has a hole (on the brake pedal), so the input rod just pass through the pedal.

There is a hole? The pushrod needs to make contact to actuate the switch and make it turn the light off.

If you could get a couple of pics and upload them for me to see, It may be helpful.

Let me know.

Joe

I would have done that but the vehicle is not with me anymore, I had blocked the hole with something, it is now working fine.
