So the other day while I was driving I got a “Brake fluid low” warning message on the productivity screen of my truck (FX4). This was followed by the “parking brake engaged” warning. The brake fluid low warning stays on regardless of transmission configuration and the parking brake engaged warning comes on when the truck is put in drive or reverse. I checked the fluid level, it was just below max so I topped it off, that didn’t clear the warning. My next thought was the fluid level sensor. So unfortunately nobody seems to have that sensor that you can buy by itself, so I bought the next highest assembly, the master cylinder. I swapped that today and yet the warning still has not cleared. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery and clearing the trucks memory but regardless the fault keeps returning. The only other thing I can think of would be the connector/wire itself. I have tested those for voltage and two of the three prongs tested positive for voltage, the third was a ground I’m assuming. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I’m fairly handy around a vehicle but I can’t seem to figure this one out. Any help would be appreciated.
