Brake booster problem

When depressing the brakes there is a popping or clicking noise coming from the brake booster. I took the booster off and when I push the rod in by hand it still makes the noise.

There are a number of things that can cause clicking noises but if you removed the booster and it makes the noise on the bench by moving the rod by hand then the booster needs to be replaced.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a loose or broken component inside the brake booster.
This will require replacing the brake booster.
