Front turn signals and hazards work in the front.

Troubleshooting:

1. Visually inspected wiring for bad wires or corrosion - Nothing found, Visual checks out okay.
2. Replaced both bulbs with new bulbs. - No change.
3. Replaced Brake light switch - No change.
4. Replaced Blinker switch in steering console. - No change.
5. Checked fuses - fuses good.

What's next? What else is there?

Hello,

If the fuses are good it sounds like the GEM is out and needs to be replace. Here is the location and instructions on how to replace it below. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Looks like the hardest thing to do is to figure out how to afford a GEM change. I need to find someone that can remove the data and put it in the new one. Ford dealerships charge a ridiculous amount. If anyone has any suggestions, is this something I can do with the right software?

Not really, you must be able to transfer data. I have heard of some success trying a used unit but I cannot confirm if it will work 100% Try calling around to different independents to see what they can do and let me know.

Good news, I did not have to replace the GEM. Thank you Jesus! Talking to a mechanic at a local shop he said he wanted to start from the beginning. He check the fuses and wiring and all was good. Then he check the bulbs. I told him I put new ones in. Bulbs were good, however, he said he wanted to try a different bulb anyway. He changed from a 3157 bulb to a 3057 and it worked. Say what?
The book in the parts store calls for a 3157 bulb, what I pulled out of the car was a 3158. Parts store didn't have a 3158 so I went by the book recommendation 3157. Apparently the book is wrong. The mechanic said something about how he prefers the 3057 for some reason I can't remember. I was just thrilled it works now!

The GEM is a control unit by itself and do not have any relays that are detachable. You need to perform wiring and power supply checks. You mentioned getting the vehicle back from the shop. Waht was done at the shop and was problem there before sending it in?

Are you able to perform checks with a DVOM or test light?
