My car makes a winding sound and when places in drive will not move forward. I have to put it in reverse than drive for it to move forward. It is like the brakes lock up. I have had a slow leak but am unaware if it is the brake line or power steering.

Good morning.

The noise may be from the transmission front pump starving for fluid.

Check your fluid level.

I would also suggest changing the fluid and filter in the transmission as well and see if the issue continues.
