Mechanic broke a bolt taking my alternator and bracket out that he should not of been touching and now can’t get it out, so my car just sits after paying him to have it towed. Is there any suggestions on how to go about getting it out and is this really the one that came out my car, it looks different from the one I googled

Appears to be the alternator bracket and the adjustment bolt broke off. Not an uncommon failure. The easiest thing would be to use a drill and drill a hole through the center of the bolt. Then use a straight shaft style extractor like the RIDGID 35580 into the hole, then heat that area on the bracket and try to drive the broken piece out like you were tightening it. The threads at the bottom are likely rusted and trying to back it out caused it to jam and break. The straight flute style allows you to rotate the piece either direction and should let the bolt rotate out when the heat expands the bracket.

You are welcome. If you drill the hole straight it should save the threads.

Just be sure it is straight. Now say you get a bit off center and damage some threads, but you get most of it out, you could install a thread insert to repair the threads.
