Box on positive battery cable looks like fuse box

Was trying to change batteries out. another person hooked cables up to opposite post positive to negative post and negative cable to positive post sparks fired off. when I corrected problem I could not get any power at all.

check fuse in picture and all other ones under hood as you may have blown a few of them.
