My bonnet lock is broken so took car to a Ford garage, they removed lock and will have a part in a few days. I need to open the bonnet now and was wondering if this is possible without doing damage.

It depends how they have latched down the bonnet, with a plastic tie strap? Or metal wire? Because if you get it open, there is no guarantee that it will close again. If it is held down with a plastic tie strap you may be able to get another tie strap from a hardware store and re-attach it. Can you upload a picture of how it is held down?

No, I can't see in to know weather it's plastic or wire. Will have to wait until morning when it's bright to see.

Most likely a plastic zip tie, easy to install and easy to remove. Did you get it open or just waited for the new parts?

Still haven't got it opened as I can't see whether it's wire or plastic tied. My car seem to have sorted itself out. My car started going mad, indicators flashing and immobilizer going mental, I was worried about battery dying on me. It all stopped after 4 hours but battery didn't go dead as I kept starting it. I was thinking it's an electrical fault but was told yesterday by a mechanic that he has seen this happen before, not to a Ford but a different make and said it was a alternator fault. I think the battery in the car is the original Ford battery so was thinking maybe that need replacing.

Could be the battery, you can have it load tested to see if it's an issue and that would also show if there is a different issue with the charging system.

Thanks Steve, not much I can do now until Ford ring me to say the part has arrived, once that's sorted I will get straight on to the battery/charging system. Thanks again
