The bolt broke when I tried to take it off I was wondering if it is okay to drive because the bolt at the bottom of the car has the alternator firmly in place and it doesn’t move.if I adjust the belt and tighten the bolt on the bottom of the car so the alternator is secure will it be okay to drive like this or does the bolt have to be removed and replaced?

Hello,

Is that bolt broken in the alternator and not the bracket?
If it's broken in the alternator, I would replace it. There's a lot of tension on that belt and if it slips you'll have problems with charging the battery. They can slip pretty easily during higher rpm's.
