I noticed a couple weeks ago my power steering reservoir fluid was boiling, like excessively.
What can cause this? Because today my car made a loud like squealing noise like when you have a loose belt. Then it progressed into a terrible loud almost like grinding. I don't know or like the sound your car makes when radiator blows. But mine didn't.I drove 2 blocks turned car off and got it towed home.
Any ideas?
Maybe the power steering fluid isn't related. But then maybe it's a pre- curser.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Attached is my current.

Good morning,

This sounds like the power steering pump itself. The pressure may be too high or there is a restriction in the lines causing this issue.

The pump would be the first thing that needs to be replaced. The system will need to be flushed as well of all the old fluid.

Even after the pump is replaced, there is a possibility the rack may have been damaged. The seals internally may have been damaged.
