Hi,
Is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? If it is, I suggest having the computer scanned for codes. There are a few different things that can cause this and a code will point us in the right direction. Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize not everyone has a scanner, but most parts stores will do it free of charge. If that isn't an option, then I would first check fuel pressure. Here is a link that shows how it's done. Based on your description, you may be right. Low fuel pressure can be the cause.

Here are the manufacturer's specs for pressure:
Fuel Pressure .................... 379-393 kPa (55-57 psi)
Next, if that checks okay, then I would confirm there is no issue with a blockage in the exhaust system. A plugged catalytic converter can act this way too. Take a look through these links. The first discusses symptoms and the second how to test.

Lets start with checking those things. Again, if you have access to a scanner and the check engine light stays on, scan for codes and let me know what you find.
Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
Take care,
Joe
