My truck starts fine idles. It is fine until about 2,000 rpm's then it just bogs way down like starving for gas. I changed the fuel filter and pump, checked the TPS, by disconnecting it and still does the same thing.

Hello,

This could be a problem with your vehicle's throttle body being dirty. When this happens your vehicle's Power-train Control Module (PCM) gets a distorted signal from the Throttle Position Sensor(TPS) and goes into "limp" mode. I have included a link below for you to go to.

Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,

Could also be a clogged catalytic converter. Try unhooking the exhaust from the manifolds and go for a loud road test. If the concern is gone, you have found the problem.

On my 2000 F150 4.6, I removed the throttle body as well as the piece below it, which had ports clogged that run to the EGR valve. Mechanics were baffled by the engine codes, even former employees at the dealership. There is a good YouTube video on how to do this by randomthingssc.

Hi,

It could also be the Fuel Pump Driver Module used on returnless fuel system. It's located above the spare tire on the left side frame cross member. Remove it and check the back side of the module they are made out of aluminum and corroded through causing voltage drop to the fuel pump. I'm attaching a schematics and wiring diagram below for your reference. The wiring diagram is cut into 2 hafts for easy viewing. Let us know if you need more info.

Thanks
Joe T.
