2001 BMW Z3 fuel leaking

My 2001 M Roadster leaks (puddles) fuel after parking. It appears to be coming from an area around the upper portion of the fuel tank (behind passenger seat, but more towards the center of car). The car sits too low for me to get a good look. Anyone have an idea?

The filler neck connection is probably leaking. The tank will need to be inspected and perhaps drained to get the fuel level low enough to access the neck and repair the leaking. You may not need to remove the tank to do this.
