Engine Performance problem
2000 BMW Z3 Manual 60000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I just drove through a really bad sandstorm (infact my car got stuck and I had to call AAA to pull it out). My car now only goes up to 50MPH, even if I try to change gears. If I try to go faster - it will drop back down. It also makes a horrible noise.

What else do I need to do (change my air filters, get an oil change, etc)?

I am on a fairly tight budget - I saw that the auto part store caries an engine cleaner that you pour in after an oil change. Is this a good way to start?

Your help is kindly appreciated. Thanks!

Start with replacement of the air filter, as to changing the oil, if it's close to the interval then, yes change the oil and filter. Repost if this doesn't do it.
