How do you check the transmission fluid?

The correct method is to bring the operating temperature of the transmission fluid to 30-50 degrees C and then raise the vehicle and locate the fill plug located on the right side of the tranny, remove and with the engine running, the fluid should be at the level of the fill plug, add the correct BMW approved(very important!!) fluid if needed.
