the codes that come up on scanner are p1188 and p1189, scanner won't read said to see bmw book, before i take it to the bmw place , I'm looking for what these codes mean to better help me, before I'm charged a small $ thanks for any help

Possibly a reflash issue or replacement of the hot film mass air flow sensor and a reflash will need to occur. The dealer should be able to do this.
