i have a 2000 BMW Z3. never been in an accicdent. recently the air bag warning light came on. dealor said it has something to do with the active seatbelt resraints and it is expensive to fix. and i must pay the money or live with the light on. any suggestions on how to turn that lite off or ideas about how to fix the cause at the the seatbelt ?

The seatbelt tensioning device is in need of replacement and is only moderately expensive. You could do what some people have done and put a piece of black tape over it or remove the instrument cluster and take out the SRS bulb at your own risk.
