Please help!
My 2008 bmw x5, 3.0 automatic electronic transmission, jumps/jerks 4-5 seconds after completely stopped (at red light for example) , and it repeats itself for about 3 times during single stop.
This is only when cold, when car completely warms up, it's gone. Bmw dealers, couldn't verify complaint, reprogramed transmission, no result. Some said it's almost normal, well, how come other x5's don't have it. What could this be??? any ideas?

I acknowledge your frustration with your problem. The issues BMW has with new models usually includes programming or software issues as they have become more electronically complex and cannot be "repaired" with wrenches and/or screwdrivers. Having said that I wish to let you know that as a former employee of 2 bay area BMW dealerships, the engineering staff at bmw may well be aware of the issue of which you speak, and often would just pass it off with "it will be repaired with the next version of software" which does nothing to address the concern and frustration of the technicians in BMW's employ. I want to be able to give you THE answer to make this issue go away, but until car makers realize they cannot just keep selling their engineering train wrecks and passing them off to the unsuspecting public as "normal" they will continue to circle the drain.
