The door handle inside the car will not disengage the door lock. It will open from the outside handle though. If you park car you need to lower window and pull outside handle to unlatch and open door.

The Bowden cable has broken and will require replacement. This will require removal of the door panel. Part number for your cable is 51-21-8-403-057. Go to Realoem.com for an exploded view.
