i would like to know about a noise in my transmission?
i had a person who wanted to buy my x5, but then he told me that when bmw's have a noise in park from the tranmission ,that it meant it was going bad.

now i have eng noise when my radio and a/c is off, is a v8, but noise in the transmission ,and he even said that thegears went ok. please let me know if it is posiblo in parking for the trans to work and make noise? thank you freddy bmw x5 2001

I am unsure of the question. Noise is notoriously difficult to transmit in cyberspace and there is a question in my mind as to what the noise is, is it coming from the engine or the transmission? Have you consulted anyone on this who could be considered an expert? This would help because I cant hear it from here.
