Electrical problem
2001 BMW X5 V8 Automatic 130000 miles

Upon turning on the ignition, the rear body warms/heat up suddenly.

Could it be due to excessive current (short) in any of the circuit. I noticed the problem after carrying heavy luggage in the boot & where carelessly loaded as the battery (other electrical components) are below the boot.

I need help pls as i can't even start the car for fear of fire as the heating is close to the gasoline tank

thanks

It sounds like a short circuit that could cause a fire, remove the boot cover and look for burn marks, lets go from there.
