2005 BMW X3 Seat Belt

My passenger seat belt wont buckle. When I try to insert the belt it does not click, so i push down on the button and then insert the belt.

There might be something lodged inside the seat belt recepticle, I have found coins or a bit of trash inside these units several times that cause the seat belt to be compromised.
