the rear section of the sunroof will not go down. BMW says $5000 to fix. I want to know if it can be manually closed and can a body shop mechanic make the repair. I was told the entire 'cassette' and 'sliders' need replacing, but it's the only part malfunctioning. HELP. What are my options and lowest $$ ballpark?

The panoramic sunroof has no repair parts available and when failure occurs the only solution is replacement of the entire cassette. There is the salvage industry.
