2002 BMW 745 Transmission Fail Safe Mode

Hello. I have a 2002 BMW 745i. Yesterday while driving i felt a little jerk and then my Transmission Fail Safe Mode light came on. My lower gears would not engage. I was able to make it home now I cannot shift the car In reverse or drive..Anyone have any Ideas on what this could be.

Whatever it is, the car will require a scan with the proprietary BMW software to determine the fault and its remedy. It could be anything, towing it to your BMW tech is the thing to do.
