trans fail safe comes on and fault code 015 stored in trans module, clear the fault and start the car up and the fault comes oin again

A more comprehensive diagnosis would seem to be in order. A scan of the cars' systems with the proprietary BMW software is next. Do that and get back to me.

sorry for the intrusion I just have one question,
1. Is your transmission leaking oil?

you can only check the transmission oil on this particular vehicle on a rack, with the vehicle at operating temperature and running, and it requires a special tool to remove the plug, if the transmission is low on fluid it will start to malfunction and set codes, I suggest you have your transmission fluid level checked, remember BMW requires its own special transmission oil available at a European parts store, Or the dealer, don't worry it is only $34 a pt.
