Replaced oil filter and gaskets about 1K ago and now there is a slight leak from the oil filter housing cover. I waited about an hour before removing cover and oil spilled out. Finally drained when I removed filter. Replaced filter and gasket (Mann). It has done this several times. What could be the problem. Thanks

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to find out what's the oil pump is doing-pressure relief valve could be sticking closed overpressurizing the system

I have seen this several times. The cap will possibly require replacement, it is available from this site: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=GH83&mospid=47531&btnr=11_1414&hg=11&fg=30
