1999 BMW 740 Location of leakage diagnostic pump

Can you tell me where the Leakage Diagnostic Pump is located on a 1999 BMW 740i (E38). I believe that it is in one of the rear wheel wells, but don't know if it's the driver side or passenger side. Also, what is the best way to remove the well liner

Take the wheel off and remove all the screws and plastic rivets, left rear wheel well.
