1998 BMW 740I

Hot air is blowing out of the floor vents & cold air is blowing out of the upper vents & there is a strange coolant odor when the defroster is in use.

The IHKA system needs to be scanned for faultsand the cooling system should be pressure tested to pinpoint the source of the leak. If you can smell the coolant, its leaking and you should have it checked straight away mate.
