Engine Cooling problem
1998 BMW 740 V8 Automatic

hii i am having a 1998 bmw 74oil...i just changed the water pump and thermostat since the water pump had some problem and it had some kind of leak.i came to know it because it used to show check coolant level..now i changed the water pump and thermostat with it and refilled with 4 litres of coolant and rest distilled water. but still it shows in the display check coolant level each time i start the car even though the coolant level is fine when i check it.pls help me on this..thank you

Does the check coolant level warning come on briefly at start up or is it on constantly ?

no the check coolant level comes only at the start up and after i turn off the car..

Replace the coolant level sensor.

i suspect this is just a sensor fault .. you could change the sensor (coolant level) or just keep a check on the coolant, I would opt for changing sensor as it may not work when level does become low ?
