my 1993 bmw 740i needed the fuel pump replaced but after i installed the new pump the the car started up but it ran so rich that it idles rough and if u floor it going down the road its like a smoke screen behind you.. before pump was changed it never had any rich running problem...the pump i used was a bosch # 0580314123 that i got new off the net ..i contacted bosch and they said that that # was for a 525i which is a 6 cylinder ..i dont want to go get a different pump if i dont need to and i dont know what else it could be...also other net stores show that the 740i and 525i pumps will work for either .......i have ask many people and know one has been able to help...also i installed a new fuel pressure regulator and no change thank you for any info
