1987 BMW 635 Fuel problem?

My Bmw L6 will start easily when cold and even when just sitting after about ten minutes it dies almost like it is out of gas. When I try to start it the car almost acts like it is out of gas, but when it sits for a little bit it will start again without a problem.
Any ideas?
