Engine Cooling problem
1994 BMW 540i 6 cyl Automatic

How to change water pump in above car, without removing fuel/intake system. Two rods on the back of water pump hinder my extraction of the pump, and will make it hard to return pump to right location if I have to align these rods with something in the back. what do i need to know to remove pump and install new one??

The tubes are coolant pipes, their alignment is possible after removing the coolant pump. Remove the old pump, clean the old gasket off, install the o-rings in the pump and use some lithium grease to aid the installation of the tubes.
