1995 BMW 540 V8 Two Wheel Drive 260,00 miles

My bmw will not start due to a check engine computer code. Is there a way I can reset this so the car can be started. I live in the country and the cost of a tow would be very expensive! Any information you can forward that I can try would be sincerely appreciated.

I am unaware of a computer code that will keep it from starting. What is the code that is set and how was this code obtained.
