Since I purchased my BMW a few months ago the outdoor temperature has read -40 degrees F. This was not a problem at first but now everytime I turn my air conditioner on in my car it shuts off because the outdoor temperature is reading that it is too cold for the air conditioner to be on. Does anyone know if there is a way for me to reset the outdoor temperature feature.

you may try disconnecting and reconneting vehicle battery, but most likely the exterior temperature sensor is faulty and will need replaced .

And after replacement(if faulty or broken) the system faults will require clearing to restore proper operation, simple replacement alone will not do it.
