Engine Cooling problem
1998 BMW 530i

Hi, we had a hose came loose in our BMW and lots of water came out in steam form and the engine became very hot. We have refitted the hose and the car still overheats after a few hundred yards. We did top up the water with de- ionised but it seems to make no difference.

The cooling system has been purged of air, correct? The head casting may be cracked due to the overheating.
