I have twice experienced a failure of the oil pressure release valve in sub zero weather. The symptoms are heavy exhaust, loss of oil and in the latest case, engine shutdown. The valve apparently gets stuck in the open position. Any solution other than to refrain from driving in cold temperatures or constantly fearing the failure and another replacement of the valve?
