Hello, I own a 1999 bmw528I sports package, 6cy vehicle w/ 87,600 miles. I'm experiencing grinding noise when turning the wheel to the right(left o.K.)
while the car is in reverse. Help!

I am not a BMW mechanic, that said I have worked on a few. Have you checked the front end parts? Is it an all wheel drive? Check front axle.I assume the noise is outside?

You will need to inspect the suspension in the front and see if there is some interference causing this noise. My guess at this age and mileage is the thrust arm bushings are leaking and need replacement. They are fluid filled and when they leak fluid they allow movement beyond what is nominal. The tires touch something and make a noise. You are the eyes and ears for us and we need to be in communication to get your car repaired. Repost to Dr. Hagerty and happy holidays
